JOB DESCRIPTION
Responsibilities:

(The primary tasks, functions and deliverables of the role)

  • Identify, plan, test, implement, troubleshoot, diagnose and fix data solutions environment issues, and develop monitoring solutions and tools to automate daily operational activities
  • Define system/service configurations, installation, and support of components for data solutions implementation and maintenance (site and enterprise levels)
  • Works closely and flexibly with developers to ensure a successful release to QA and production environment
  • Develops and provides technical documentation and training materials for support teams
  • Constructs, maintains and tests staging systems to validate product/feature functionality as well as load testing
  • Develops automation and processes to enable teams to deploy, manage, configure, scale and monitor their applications
  • Adhere to quality operations practices and drives development of tools for improving efficiencies
  • Create and maintain relevant documentation as it relates to DevOps planning, execution and maintenance
  • Create and maintain standards for infrastructure and other items related to code management and deployments

Requirements:

Required

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering and/or related field.
  • One of the following alternatives may be accepted:  

PhD or Law + 3 yr;

Masters + 4 yrs;

Associates + 6 yrs;

High School + 7 yrs exp

Experience

  • 5 years in DevOps or systems administration

Skills

  • Expert knowledge of system administration, security and network protocols for client/server environment
  • Experience with AWS and relevant services (e.g. S3, EMR, Cloud Formation)
  • Experience with Terraform or similar infrastructure management tools
  • Experience with job management tools like Airflow
  • Experience with CI/CD tooling like Jenkins
  • Solid understanding of software development life cycle, test driven development, Agile methodologies, continuous integration, continuous delivery
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to educate, inform, persuade, and achieve understanding and buy-in on technical and business needs across different functions, levels and customers.
  • High attention to detail and the ability to work independently requiring minimal direction while following established guidelines/procedures
  • Solid understanding and experience working with high availability, high performance, multi-data center systems and hybrid cloud environments
  • Proven implementation/deployment experience with strong ability to troubleshoot complex hardware and software issues
  • Strong process orientation and project management skills to manage multiple project streams
